Every child, every family, every community who has received support from Child Cancer Foundation has their own unique story to tell. Stories of hope, love, battles, hardship and kindness.
Since it was established in 1978, Child Cancer Foundation has been part of their stories, providing support when children with cancer and their families need it most.

In 2018 (forty years since it was established) Child Cancer Foundation will bring storytelling to the streets of Auckland through the Big Hoot.

Custom painted owl sculptures will capture people’s imaginations at key locations around the city. Owls are icons of storytelling - well known to represent wisdom, migration, diversity, learning and intelligence - and each sculpture will share a unique and meaningful story from the New Zealand community.

“The innovative Big Hoot will offer a free and fun experience, giving people the opportunity to explore areas of Auckland they may not have visited before. We encourage people to let their inner child get carried away in the stories told by each owl! By committing to the Big Hoot, you are ensuring Kiwi children with cancer and their families continue to receive one-on-one, personalised support when they need it most. We thank everybody who commits their support to the success of this important project. We simply could not do it without you.”
